Short Bio

Mashal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics – University of L’Aquila. She has completed her PhD in Information and Communication Technologies at University of L'Aquila in 2025. Her research focuses on exploring methods to extract users' ethical preferences and incorporate them into autonomous systems to ensure they are transparent, adaptable, and responsive to users' ethical considerations in their behavior. She is part of the SoSy research group at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science and Mathematics of the University of L'Aquila. She actively participates in projects including EXOSOUL, HALO, and RoboChor. She previously pursued her bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science in Jamshoro, Pakistan, where she also focused on research in the field of computer vision.
